I downloaded an album from swedish artist Oskar Linnros last week, this is my favorite track so far. I realize the appetite for non-english pop music is not that great, i can't even buy his newest album from itunes.
Ack, Sundyberg

From the other end of the Scandinavian music spectrum, Hedningarna's TUULI. Finnish singers, Swedish instrumentalist, and a Sami "joiker" (kind of a primitive rap/chant).
Before that I was listening to the Mamas and the Papas
and Lou Reed covered by the Cowboy Junkies

and Lou Reed covered by the Cowboy Junkies i remember that cover being pretty popular back in the day. lou reed's passing was kind of weird for me, he has influenced many things i've liked over the years, but i never listened to too much Velvet Underground. its all a jumble of andy warhol, that banana album cover, and the brian eno claim that everyone who listened to them started their own band.

His death made me feel weirdly nostalgic for the 60s, which ended when I was barely in high school, and weren't that great in a lot of ways, too many assassinations and much weirdness. But a very alive time, a good time to be young.

I am listening to Amy Grant "How Mercy Looks from Here" - wonderful album. Other than that - lots of audible books - addicted to those things!!

I've also been listening a bit to Lou Reed since his death. I do like him and The Velvet Underground, but I've got to be in the mood for them most of the time. Here's one I like because it has my name in it. I'm also really enjoying Lorde's new album. I'm sure you've probably heard her song 'Royals' - it's been played to death over here but I am still not sick of it surprisingly, I seem to get more appreciation for it every time I hear it. Here's her latest one 'Team.' I'm also really liking Lana Del Rey. Here's her song that was featured in The Great Gatsby. And I'm also just starting to listen to Imagine Dragons.

Yeah, she's so cool, isn't she! I can't get over the tone she has for such a young girl! Truly an amazing talent

like one day i'd never heard of her, then I heard "Royals" one time on KROQ (LA music statoin), and then it was on every local station everywhere. until right now (when I looked) I even thought her album name was "Pure Heroin" which is a lot more badass than "Pure Heroine". however they created "Lorde", they must be rich now.

Here is a new band from Seattle WA, sort of retro 60's with surf guitars; La Luz They just released their first album last month.
A couple of weeks ago while coming back from Vancouver BC, where they were opening for "of Montreal", they had a bad traffic accident, no one was seriously hurt but they lost their van, all their equipment and all their gear.

This is truly an inspirational album for anyone by one of my favorite artist, Amy Grant, whom I grew up listening to. Sheryl Crow, Carole King and James Taylor are also featured here---added bonus! These songs speak to so people on so many different levels and I absolutely recommend this album for anyone!

I was listening to this 15 years ago, and then I remembered it again the other night. Whatever happened to Eagle-Eye Cherry?
